Why is my elgato not showing on OBS? ›

No Signal. Make sure that when you're working with OBS Studio that 4K Capture Utility or other capture software is closed. The Elgato Game Capture HD60 S+ can only be access by one program at a time. Close OBS Studio and open our 4K Capture Utility software to see if a signal comes through.

Solution: If the Elgato Gaming unit is connected via USB, then try another USB cable. Try another USB port on your Mac or PC, and also restart your computer. If you have another computer, try your Elgato Gaming hardware with it. This will let you know if the problem may be with the computer, or Elgato Gaming hardware.

Connect the capture card to your computer with a USB cable, then turn the Switch on and open your OBS program. Click the '+' button in the 'Sources' box in OBS, then select 'Video Capture Device.

Once you have OBS Studio installed and open, go to the bottom half of the OBS Studio window. You should find a column on the left called Scenes and next to it a column called Sources. Below the Sources column, click on the + button below. Then choose Video Capture Device.

Cables that are not properly connected to the source HDMI Output port or the capture card HDMI Input port could cause the capture card to not correctly acquire the signal. Disconnect the HDMI cables and reinsert them firmly. HDMI cables vary in quality and speed.

1) Make sure the USB cable is connected to the Elgato Gaming hardware, and your computer. Solution: Check the connections at both ends of the USB cable, and make sure the cable is connected to your computer, and not a powered USB port on another device, or an USB power adapter. 2) Your TV may be set to the wrong input.

Most game software is using dedicated GPU. If the OBS Studio is under integrated status, it will be different from the graphics card used on the game software. For that reason, the black screen will show. To solve that issue, you need to adjust the graphics card position used on OBS Studio.

If the input resoultion is higher than the OBS setting it will not display. Either reduce the source resolution (i.e. to 1080p) or increase the video capture resolution setting to match that of the input.

Restart OBS

Sometimes the program could be having some technical difficulties, and performing a simple restart could be all it needs to fix your media source. Restarting OBS can also be required to save settings and make sure they are in effect.

Go to the Settings app and type Privacy in the search box. Here, you will get the option of enabling/disabling the "Allow apps to access your camera" button. Click on the Change button and turn on the toggle if it's disabled. Check whether the camera issue is resolved.
